Evidence into practice

How I build your training.

Critical Power, internal and external load, progressive overload and clear rider feedback: this is how the method fits together.

01 · Profile

Measure what matters for the work ahead.

Testing establishes a practical profile rather than a single vanity number. Critical Power and work capacity help describe how long you can sustain demanding work and how you perform above that boundary.

  • Field testing in real riding conditions
  • Power and heart-rate zones with context
  • Repeatable checkpoints across the season

02 · Load

Read the session from both sides.

External load describes the work: power, duration and intensity. Internal load describes your response: heart rate, exertion and fatigue. Looking at both prevents false certainty.

The same wattage can be routine one week and costly the next. Training decisions should notice that difference.

03 · Adapt

Progress is planned; adaptation is observed.

Training blocks have a direction, but they are not sacred. We progress load when you are absorbing it, protect recovery when you are not, and keep the route to your target event realistic.
