Personal one-to-one coaching to reach your goals. A scientific approach that fits the time you have and how you respond to training.

A performance test that establishes your current fitness and training zones, so you can train better and more specifically.
I am Tycho Parmentier, cycling coach and movement scientist. I coach cyclists at every level, from a first junior race to the World Championships and everything in between, with a personal training plan built on scientific knowledge, data analysis and personal feedback.
Background

In the intake I map out your goals, your training background and the time you have.
From that I build a season plan with concrete training blocks, around your races, training camps and recovery.
I compare your execution and your feedback with the purpose of each session, and adjust the plan when that is needed.

“Tycho's knowledge of exercise physiology gives me a lot of confidence in my training plan. There is also always room to exchange ideas about training theory with him, so I learn a lot myself as well.”
Pascal · 5th Scratch & Omnium, Junior World Championships“I have recently been trained and coached by Tycho, he creates my training schedule and keeps close contact with how it is going and what I think of it.”

Training data
Power describes the work you did. Heart rate and perceived exertion show what it cost you. Good coaching reads both sides of a session.
A cycling coach builds a training plan around your goals, your level and the time you have, and adjusts it as soon as something changes. That adjusting is the difference from a standard plan: I look at what you rode, what it cost you and how you recover, and shape the next weeks on that. I also think along about your goals, races and training camps.
How the coaching worksWith me, coaching costs €89, €129 or €209 a month, for Basic, Premium and Pro. The difference is how often I review your data, how often we talk and how closely I guide you. You pay monthly, with one month's notice. The intake is free of obligation: paid work only starts once we have agreed on a package and a start date together.
Compare the packagesNo. I coach riders working towards a gran fondo or a cycling holiday in the mountains, or who simply want to get fitter around work and family, just as much. The gain is rarely in training harder, but in a smarter split: easy rides that are truly easy, hard sessions that can be truly hard, and enough recovery in between.
For cycling it works well, because your bike computer, power meter and heart rate monitor record every session. I see exactly what you did and how your body responded, wherever you live. Your workouts are ready in Intervals.icu or TrainingPeaks, and with Premium and Pro we talk at fixed moments and stay in touch via WhatsApp in between. If you live in Utrecht, the performance test can be done at your home.
You ride a graded test in which the power goes up every four minutes. After each step I take a finger-prick sample to measure your blood lactate. From that I determine your two thresholds, LT1 and LT2, in watts and heart rate, and your training zones. You then train on zones that belong to your body rather than on a percentage of your FTP. The test costs €100, including report and explanation, and can be booked on its own.
See the performance testNo. A sports medical examination is done by a doctor, who checks whether you are healthy enough for intensive exercise. My performance test is not a medical examination: it measures where your thresholds are, so you can tune your training to them. If you have complaints or doubts about your health, see your GP or a sports physician first.
That differs per rider and depends on where you start. Riders who begin training with structure often first notice that their hard sessions go better, because their easy rides get easier and their recovery improves. Whether your thresholds have really moved shows in a retest after a training block. Think in months, not weeks: consistency over a season gets you further than one perfect block.
